The building
The building is equipped with first class equipment and has a total area of about 3,200 sq.m, which is divided into 8 floors. The first three ground levels are connected with high-quality escalators. The two elevators serve the main commercial floors, one of them underground. The building is fully equipped with powerful air-conditioning and ventilation systems and with the most modern fire-fighting facilities. The whole area is covered with hard dark pavements. The interior of the building is flooded with sunlight thanks to the glass roof and the holes next to it on each floor.Star Gallery can be reached from both the main pedestrian street - Prince Alexander I Battenberg and the parallel pedestrian street - Otez Paisii.
In 2004, two Austrian investors - Karl Polzofer and Eng. Rudolf Leitner bought the building to make it a beautiful and modern shopping center on a Western European model.Experts from the construction industry have found that everything in the building, apart from the two facades – cultural monuments, should be removed and rebuilt. No compromise has been made during the construction work of the building and the restoration and rehabilitation of the facades. For example, wooden windows have been placed instead of windows of artificial materials. In the construction and installation works are used the highest quality building materials and equipment. These were the big wishes of the two investors, who are renowned entrepreneurs in the construction business in Austria. One of their strongest aspects in this business is the rehabilitation and restoration of existing buildings.Eng. Rudolf Leitner is a successful specialist in construction in Austria.Mr. Karl Polzhofer is a successful businessman in Austria, who founded three factories - woodwork, furniture and upholstered furniture in Pöllau, Steiermark.
